Lunar Pinnacle

The two models in the lunar Pinnacle range see the introduction of the popular Ford Transit as the new base vehicle in the Lunar stable. Using the 110BHP, 2.2 turbo diesel multijet engine with front wheel drive and 5 speed gear box, the Pinnacle models also have power assisted steering, ABS brakes, special suspension and reinforced tyres as standard. Both models are low profile with the RL having a rear lounge and the FB having a half dinette at the front and a rear fixed bed. A host of features are standard in the new Pinnacle including Italian designed stylish curved two tone furniture doors, blown air heating, three way fridge gas/12v/230v, gas heating with hot water boiler, mains electric charger transformer, C200 toilet and a combined oven and grill. The specification can be further personalised by fitting the optional GT PACK which adds power windows, power mirrors, remote central locking, radio/CD, GT graphics colour co-ordinated bumper and quilted and buttoned upholstery at a very competitive price.

Our 2008 GT Pinacle FB saw its first tour to Normandy in August 2008, followed by and extended holiday season into Christmas 2008. This was in preparation to a promised longer tour through France and Spain for a Six week 3,800 mile round trip, for a special wedding anniversary.
The Ford base has performed excellently, and with the Cruise Control set to 110 Kph, we manage an average 32 miles per gallon. The accomodation we found has been excellent, and with some mobility problems Pat has appreciated the comfort afforded by the Fixed bed layout.
Additions have included Solar Panel, which has meant we have never been worried about overnighting without hook up, even when using Satellite TV, and a tow bar to accomodate a Mobility Tray. Again the Ford chassis has coped with this, and leaves plenty of room before the payload is exhausted, even with full tanks, and awning.
The Pinnacle has been a good choice for, ourselves and circumstances, and given that like many we probably made our decision based on budget, one which we are well satisfied. Our 2010 season starts with a mileage of 7,500 very happy miles, and smiles
    Regards Pat and Colin Turner
